Disney Files for Dismissal of Lawsuit (...Again)

Nick Wilde, Ace Attorney by Quirky-Middle-Child, commissioned by Berserker88
(We'll need to commission more art of this crossover if this lawsuit drags on any longer...)
In a turn of events that surprises nobody, Disney has filed an official motion to dismiss the lawsuit brought by Gary Goldman claiming that Disney violated his copyright to create Zootopia.

Now, I've said before that ZNN will cover the documents that Goldman brought forward as evidence of his claim, and we still intend to do that.  But we want to do it justice.  We want to present the story that Goldman claims Disney stole, and leave it up to you to judge for yourself if his claims are accurate or not.

That said, we fully agree with Disney's opening statement in their 31-page motion to dismiss that they filed with the United States District Court for the Central District of California.
"This Court previously dismissed Plaintiff's initial complaint and concluded that by choosing not to attach the allegedly infringed Looney materials, Plaintiff "actively obfuscated the details of the infringement."  As the court observed, Plaintiff's failutre to attach the Looney materials to its initial complaint, or to include any clear summary of them, indicated that doing so "would have been detrimental to its claims."  Now that the Looney materials have finally emerged with Plaintiff's amended complaint, the Court's observations are confirmed: the additional descriptions and context provided by those materials show Looney and Zootopia bear no similarity, let alone substantial similarity required to state a aim for copyright infringement.  Every finding and holding in the Court's previously existing prior 20-page opinion and order should be conclusively affirmed."
Hopefully this will finally be the end of this whole debacle.  Knowing how stubborn Goldman seems to be, though, I'm betting we will get at least one or two more articles out of this.  And maybe a few more laughs.

Remember kids: Don't be a Goldman.  Trying to take credit for other people's art and reap the benefits for yourself, be it a sketch on Deviantart or a billion-dollar box-office hit, is never okay.  So don't do it.  Or else you'll be a Goldman.

For those of you who want to catch up with the entire Goldman Lawsuit Saga, follow this link and you'll find the articles in order from most recent to oldest.  And for those who want to read Disney's full dismissal, you can find that here or after the break.

Comic: It Should Have Been Me

If you're a dedicated fan of Zootopia, you might remember the animatics from the earlier version of the movie, which Nick's father (commonly known in the official artbooks as John Wilde) had a dream of creating his very own shop with his son named "Suitopia". But even with the "Need a suit? Zootopia welcomes you" as the Slogan...he and his son were rejected.

Based on this concept, RobertFiddler ( who also made An Adventure in Zootropolis) created It Should Have Been Me, which shows in his perspective about more of Nick's past and the relationship with his father.

It's worth a read and very touching. Don't look at me, I'm not crying I swear!

Story: Birth Of Angel

Art by: TheWaywardKid
[Rating T13][Romance][Drama][Sequel]

Fans of "Animal Instinct," TheWaywardKid's debut Zootopia fanfic, should have no problem sinking their teeth into its sequel, which picks up where its predecessor left off. And just when you thought an interspecies relationship would be the most substantial of Judy and Nick's worries together, wait til you get a load of what Mother Nature -- no, really, that's not in the figurative sense -- tosses their way. Humorous, engaging and with just the right amount of fluff, "Birth of Angel" is an engrossing tale of beating the odds. - YFWE

Author: TheWaywardKid
Description : Evolution. It was in their very nature. From the beginning of life all the way up to the modern day, the mammals of the world had adapted over the centuries. Evolution. It's what had kept their story going. But change is not always welcome, and the future can be decided. When faced with the birth of Angel, which future would Zootopia choose? A ZNN Plush Couch by Ziegelzeig!

Four Million Pageviews.

How awesome and amazing is this? This website has sure seen some amazing things in it's short span of life and I don't think any of us want to ever see it slow down! With the hope and wanting of a new Zootopia sequel that we pray will be announced in the next few years, may this page surge and usher in more new fans with each passing week!

What started as a small, motley band crew of a few, passionate fans, has turned into a 40+ mammal operation with multiple people tackling different roles and taskings, each suited to their unique talents - be it writing, reading, drawing, net diving, reviewing, translating, coding and more! It is the support of these passionate fans within ZNN and all you supportive fans out in the community, who continue to show your love for this film and its world, that has helped ZNN become the site it is today!

From all of us here at ZNN, we thank you!

This past few months has seen a lot of staff fluctuation. We have promoted several to team leads and have had others transfer shops to better suit their abilities. We even have had some bow out gracefully and take their leave of ZNN, opening the door for others to take their place and live up to the precedent set before them. The internal face of ZNN is always changing, but our passion for Zootopia does not!

This picture, done by the talented Ziegelzeig, shows off the full crew of ZNN - from the time of inception to the present day where now, even a few members have had to move on with other endeavors. The reason for the belated celebration of our pageview count was because of the immense amount of characters Zieg had to draw - every single plushie was hand crafted drawn to order for every single member of ZNN. Kudos to him for taking on such a monumental task and hitting it out of the park! Can you find and name our three fearless leaders in the mix of plushies in the picture? The answers after the break!

Once again, we are very excited to continue to show our passion with the world, here, on ZNN.

Thank you so much. We look forward to the rest of this amazing journey we are on together.

And remember, as always....

Try Everything!

~The Entire ZNN Team

Story: Fox's Guile

Art by: RedPen (Technical-Error)
[Rating M16][Action][Adventure][Friendship][AU][Complete]

For all you adrenaline junkies out there, get your fix with this devilishly entertaining story of danger, cunning, and excitement out on the high seas. The first part in the "Of Salt and Steel" series, Judy, the fearless rabbit she is, has to work with a swashbuckling yet shrewd fox pirate in order to track down and vanquish bloodthirsty rebels. While reading this, I couldn't help but admire how absorbing the setting was, the combat making it feel like I was right in the middle of the intense carnage, rooting for our fox and rabbit to come out on top. Those who want the two of them to be involved romantically will have to keep reading on in the series for that to happen, but there's still a whole lot to enjoy in this terrific work, including amusing banter, expressive prose, and yes, bloody, bloody action. - DrummerMax64

Author: RedPen (GardenVatiety)
Description : In a far off time, before the ease of modern convenience, the world was one of honour and death and blood spilled in the service of kings. To one such prosperous kingdom, Zoohaven, a daring rabbit captain has pledged her service, and is ordered across the sea to hunt down a renegade of their allies. Much is at stake, but Captain Judith is unperturbed; after all, rabbits are lucky, and where luck fails, she has a conscripted fox to supply trickery in place.

Story: Coming to Reward Them

Srt by: Jacato
[Rating T13][Adventure][Mystery][Complete]

How do you follow the exceptional "Zootopia: The Original Plot"? J Shute Norway expands on that universe further with an AU of an AU of sorts, exploring a world in which the Wildes, fed up with prey-mandated collars and a Zootopia not worth fighting for, flees the city to lay their claim to a piece of unclaimed land, in order to build their own society -- that is, until Nick returns to the city he was born in, with ZPD Officer Judy Hopps hot on his tail. Remarkably imaginative and with both a light-hearted, laugh-out-loud side and darker turns when the situation calls for it, "Coming to Reward Them," which pieces together its story via gradual retellings of the past alongside the present-day storyline, is a demanding, but fulfilling, tale. - YFWE

Author: J Shute Norway
Description : Two decades ago, Nick Wilde and his family fled Zootopia, escaping the laws and prejudice that tainted their lives. Two decades ago, Nick Wilde and his family settled in a land far away, hope in their eyes and the wind in their uncollared necks. Two decades ago, Nick Wilde left Zootopia, but now he's back. He's on a mission, and nothing can stand in his way. Not even a certain bunny.

Comic Dub: Ghost Adventures in Zootopia (by Katie Katastrophe)

Imagine for a second that Nick, Judy, and Finnick made one of those "Ghost Hunter" style shows. Hey, it's plausible, I've totally done more bizarre things with friends when we're bored and want to do something fun.

With art by AndYourTeeth (aka KungFuFreak07 or Katie Katastrophe), this unusual AU is brought to life thanks to the fantastic voice work of Zootopia123 as Nick, Hoppsforwilde as Judy, and Mickelpickelvoiceacts as Finnick.  Excellent job, we look forward to seeing more from you in the future!

Story: Immemorial

Art by: TheWinterBunny
[Rating T13][Family][Hurt/Comfort][Tragedy][Complete]

Even though Memorial Day has already passed this year, it's never a bad time to pay homage to those who gave their lives while serving their country, and this wonderful short story does just that in the world of Zootopia. Having lost a colleague of theirs in the line of duty, Nick and Judy embark on a trip of commemoration, understanding and self-discovery while touring the city's memorial park. Solemn in tone and conveying a very important message, "Immemorial" is a nicely composed, fitting tribute that offers a touching look at heroes lost, but never forgotten. - DrummerMax64

Author: Dancing Lunar Wolves
Description : Immemorial: beyond memory, before record, time-honoured, past the reach of knowledge, tradition. To the time that they served, the memories that they made, and the friends and family that they'd lost. A Zootopia adaptation of this Memorial Day, and an insightful tribute in honour of those that have fallen.

Try Everything Cover by The Autumn Shack

It never ceases to amaze me just how many different things you can do with a single song.  We've seen more remixes, mashups, and covers of Try Everything than we can recall.  It's wonderful.

Today's cover comes to us from The Autumn Shack, a small youtube channel that has quite a bit of potential.  The girls in this original music video (where they apply "Try Everything" throughout various parts of their day), while young, are very, very talented.  Especially Autumn, who has a fantastic singing voice for someone her age.

Story: It Could Have Been Worse

Art by: sami01
[Rating K9][Hurt/Comfort][Drama][Fluff][One-shot]

Gladdening yet earnest, this is a heartfelt little short that details an important talk between our two partners in blue following an upsetting occurrence on the job. Candid dialogue and unsuppressed feelings add to the sincere tone as Nick and Judy discuss the inherent dangers of their profession and try to come to an understanding. It's always painful to see either of them hurting, both physically and emotionally, but you'll be rewarded by the end of this work with soothing words and a respectable amount of comfort as these two find peace of mind with each other. - DrummerMax64

Author: Cloperella
Description : When a pursuit of a criminal lands Nick in the hospital, Judy wonders if she made a mistake in pushing him to work with her in the ZPD, by putting the fox she cares so much about in constant danger. Nick lifts Judy's spirits by reminding her of her own convictions as an officer of the law, and that while he might not be the top of the class like she is, he's more than capable of standing his ground in their line of work.

ZMV - My Life Would Suck (by J&NW)

It's been a while since we've had a good old fashioned ZMV!  Seriously, I know there are video editors out there in this fandom.  It'd be great to have some more music videos to feature.  Just saying.

This ZMV, set to Kelly Clarkson's "My Life Would Suck Without You", does a very good job matching the lyrics to appropriate moments from the movie.  Judy & Nick Wilde (okay, for the purposes of this blog that name is very confusing, so I hope you don't mind if I refer to your channel as J&NW), ya did good!  Apparently there will be more ZMVs coming from this channel in the future, so we'll be keeping an eye out for them!

Story: The Spirit of Christmas

Art by: NVCAtakeo24
[Rating T13][Romance][Drama][Hurt/Comfort][Holidays][Complete]

One of the most historic days of the twentieth century, the Christmas truce of 1914 was a moment of peace, compassion and fellowship in a time that was fraught with war and bloodshed, and LapisLucius42 translates it remarkably well to the world of Zootopia and its themes in this wonderful, moving story. The conflict between predator and prey has escalated to the global level, but for one day, at one location on the battlefield, the opposing forces mutually decide to enjoy the special holiday together in an event that'll forever change their lives. Follow Nick and Judy as they fraternize with their supposed enemy, share personal stories, and form an unshakable bond that doesn't care where they stand in the food chain. With genuine emotion and fantastic characterizations, this is a story worth reading, with an ending that will make you want to check out its just-as-amazing sequel, "The Spirit of War." - DrummerMax64

Author: LapisLucius42
Description : The Christmas spirit is a unique phenomenon. It is unbiased and unprejudiced. The fever it spreads can break down the strongest barriers and turn enemies into friends. This was evident in one of the bloodiest conflicts in history. Especially between a bunny and a fox.

Comic: Duplicity (by GlumHum and xyzlo) Prologue: Before Your Very Eyes

Another expertly-drawn, multi-chapter comic?  This fandom is fantastic!

Duplicity, a new comic series by GlumHum and xyzlo, is only just beginning, but the prologue is already fantastic.  Not only is the art style very nice, but the amount of wildehopps fluff that you can fit into a few short pages of a bigger story is pretty fantastic as well!  We will definitely be keeping an eye on this on over here at ZNN.

Story: ...And All That Jazz

Art by: SR
[Rating T13][Mystery][Romance][Action][Adventure]

Some of the most interesting stories in the fandom are the alternate universes, and as far as I can tell, this is one of the first, if not THE first, to have Zootopia in the height of the Jazz Age, with gangsters and corruption and bootlegging galore. This work delivers a creative, realistic portrayal of the city and its inhabitants during this time period, and on top of that, has an engrossing storyline to sink your teeth into. True, the plot does follow the familiar route of Judy wanting to prove herself and forcing a reluctant Nick to begrudgingly assist her, but WANMWAD's careful direction, the fascinating setting and the historical accuracy make this a worthwhile read. And if history is something that appeals to you, the mini lessons at the end of each chapter are a nice bonus too! - DrummerMax64

Description : The year is 1927. Prohibition is in full swing and notorious gangster Mr. Big is behind bars for tax evasion. When his rivals start turning up dead, it seems his gang may still be bootlegging. Desperate to prove herself and put an end to the violence, rookie agent Judy Hopps pulls Nicholas Wilde out of the Witness Protection Program. Can she trust the fox who put Mr. Big away?

Midnight Merch Madness: A Nick Wilde Fidget Spinner???

Background art by Sheep7465
...Yeah, I have no good reason for making this.

A few months ago I found a post somewhere about these bootleg Zootopia Fidget Spinners, and on a whim I ordered one.  Just got it in the mail today, so we figured we'd do some sort of review of it.

Full disclosure, I do not understand the hype around fidget spinners, or why they're a meme, or anything.  And this video reflects that.  But hey, I feel bad for not posting anything other than fanfics for the past few days.

Also, if you want one of these for yourself, I'm sorry, but the amazon page selling it has mysteriously vanished.  Did I inadvertently get something really rare?  Who knows.

Story: Quest to a Place of Extreme Unpleasantness

Art by: Technical-Error
[Rating T13][Fantasy][Adventure][Action][Angst][Complete]

It's always fascinating to see Nick and Judy thrown into a fantasy setting that's swarming with extraordinary locales, dangerous monsters and supernatural elements, so if that's the kind of story you're looking for, then look no further! Our duo embarks on a journey of epic proportions that will test their resolve and bring them face to face with the sinister entities of the world they live in. And speaking of the world, RedPen's meticulous attention to detail in the lore, the atmosphere and the backstories of our fox and rabbit makes the narrative that much more immersive, which in turn contributes to the overall enjoyability of the story. You'd best be keeping an eye on the series this work is a part of, The Wounded World, as this is the first step in an adventure that promises to be grand, and one that will – hopefully – bring the heroes closer together over its duration. - DrummerMax64

Author: RedPen
Description : What are we to make of the fate of this world, when hearts turn to evil, and beasts beyond imagining are clawing at the gates? When all rests in the paws of the last breathing Custodian and a sell-sword in black? Their mission is perilous. The stakes are immeasurable. And they don't much like each other, either...

Comic- Black Jack, Part 5: The Good and the Bad (Original by Rem289 and AoiMotion)

Welcome back to Black Jack!  The time has finally come for Special Agent Jack Savage to choose his team from the best the ZPD has to offer.  It wasn't an easy choice, as we saw in the last part, but he's come to a decision- one that Judy may not like.

Once again, kudos to Rem289 and AoiMotion for bringing us this magnificent comic!  It keeps getting better and better, and we can't wait to follow the story even further!

Check out the comic over on Tumblr, Deviantart, or after the break!

"You Are My Senpai" (by Derek Pony)

It's not every day you see fan-made 3D Animation of this quality.  It's also not every day you see Judy acting like an obsessed stalker.  Today, however, the stars have aligned and given us both of those things in a single video.

Brought to us by Derek Pony (who's also brought us such gems as "Compliment" and "Wake Up, Fox!") this rather... odd animation is still seriously impressive.  Especially Judy's movements at the beginning.  For being so out-of-character, it simultaneously feels natural.

Check it out after the break, and hope that this doesn't get a sequel where Judy goes all Yandere on Nick.

The Second New England Meetup- now in NYC!

Zootopia At Night- Concept art by Matthias Lechner
Last year, I had the privilege to be a part of the first annual New England Zootopia Meetup.  It was a total blast to be able to meet other Zootopia mega-fans and have fun "watching" the movie together (i.e. quoting the whole thing before characters said their lines).

Well, it's happening again! This time it will be taking place on August 14th in Queens, New York, so I'm sure there will be plenty of people there.  The official event is organized by NYC Parks, but the meetup is being organized once again by Redman404, who coordinated last year's meetup.  Sadly, I will not be attending in person this year, (I kinda moved across the country) but ZNN will still be there thanks to YFWE, who's recently joined our Abyss Gazers.

For more information on the location and official event, you can visit the official NYC Parks site here, and if you want to learn more about the meetup, there are posts on reddit that you can comment on, and the organizers will get back to you as soon as they can!

Also, if you are planning any meetups in your local area, send some information about them over to our submissions box so we can give your events a nice signal boost.  Hooray for community interaction IRL!

Behind the Scenes of Zootopia's Styles!

Cover Models by Hannah C Meyer
When Disney set out to make Zootopia, they wanted to make sure that a world of walking, talking, clothed mammals felt real.  Once they'd gotten the first two parts down, the challenge was getting clothes right.  After all, fabric would work differently on an Elephant's body than it would on a Mouse.

The Official Zootopia Facebook Page surprised us yesterday with this quick little video on how the animators put together the styles and fabrics involved in Zootopia, as well as how they dealt with some very unique challenges that they had never had to deal with before in animation.  It's a great video with some very interesting information and models we hadn't seen before.

Comic: Chief, Chapters 1 and 2 (by FuzzyWuzzyLittleTail)

Who is Chief Bogo?  What's his story?  As chief of police, he's likely seen all sorts of unusual situations, some of which had to be very personal.  And what was he like before he was chief of police?

FuzzyWuzzyLittleTail has taken it upon herself to answer that question, tying the story of an original character (Molly Pigson) to Bogo's mysterious past.  So far, it is absolutely fantastic, and we can't wait to see more of it!

Edit: Apparently I missed a few pages.  Oops.
Brace yourselves, because this comic is massive.

The Ace Attorney crossover fan-game, Zootopia Defence, is complete!

Ladies and gentlemammals, we have our first full fan game!

Back in January, we covered a then in-progress Phoenix Wright fan game set in Zootopia called "Turnabout Wilde".  Well, after several months development and feedback, the full game, Zootopia Defence, is complete!

Brought to us by tom117z and DoctorJohnPotters, this series of trials takes us through the twists and turns you'd expect in a phoenix wright game, from a murder trial, to arson, to a sabotaged train- all with ties weaving them together in a larger plot.

I've only been able to play a little bit, but so far it's been a very well-put together game, all things considered.  I could definitely sink several hours into solving these cases.  For the first completed Zootopia fan game, it definitely holds up!

Check it out for yourself for free over on Ace Attorney Online!  I recommend zooming your window in as you play so you can read things more clearly, AAO is kinda weird when it comes to that.  And if that's not enough for you, then check out the series' TVTropes page!

What do you get when you have Nick, Judy, Jack and Skye as little kits who grow up together? One heck of a cute, enjoyable story, that's what! Dancing Lunar Wolves does a remarkable job of giving a distinct personality to each of these four mammals, and as they turn from babies to adolescents, it's very easy to become invested in their characters. You'll laugh with them in the happy times and sympathize with them in the sad ones, and through it all, you'll be thoroughly entertained by a tale that's filled with fun dialogue, amusing interactions and youthful energy. - DrummerMax64

EPIC Try Everything ROCK COVER by Jonathan Young and Jordan Sweeto!

I know this isn't the normal time of day for this sort of thing, but I don't care!  I've been waiting for Jonathan Young to do a cover of Try Everything ever since I first joined the fandom, and that day is FINALLY HERE!

Sure, it's technically a collaboration with Jordan Sweeto (who's also a great singer, don't get me wrong).  I have never featured something awesome faster than now.  Literally, I opened an email in our submissions box about this less than 5 minutes ago as I'm writing this.

I know I say this for everything, but CHECK IT OUT AFTER THE BREAK!!!

~Andy Lagopus

P.S.  I've been such a huge fan of Jonathan Young's music for a very, very long time, so apologies if this article was me just fanboying.

Oh M. Goodness, there's a Zootopia mod for Civ V!

It's a fact of life: deep down, we all want Zootopia to rule the world.  It's a dream we all share.  And, as Shia Laboeuf so masterfully put it, "Don't let your dreams be dreams!  Just DO IT!".  So if we're going to follow that sage advice and see that dream fulfilled, then we need to make it happen ourselves!  ...or at least in a video game.

This mod, created by WG완비탄, lets us live out that fantasy via the wonderful strategy game, Sid Meier's Civilization V!  Led by Mayor Lionheart, Zootopia has new buildings, like the ZPD and its overall infrastructure, as well as some good bonuses from the Mammal Inclusion Initiative. It's truly a civilization I can support ruling for thousands of years!

Unfortunately, the mod does not replace all the units with their animal equivalents (that would be a beast of a task) but it does add two new soundtracks to the game as well- specifically, Try Everything during peace, and a remix of it during war.

You can find the mod over in the steam workshop!  If you have Civ V (and the Gods and Kings and Brave New World expansion packs- it requires those), I highly recommend you give it a play!   Screenshots after the break!

Story: Fuzz

Art by: CalicoPikachu
[Rating T13][Adventure][Romance]

Judy’s been having some distressing dreams about Nick. Mayor Lionheart is back in power. There’s something a little off about his newly hired assistant mayor. Oh, and a controversial tool of Zootopia’s past is back in commission, and predators are less than thrilled. Thus far, the author has crafted an easily digestible, enticing tale of adventure, mystery and – naturally – a little romance, too. A solid read for anyone looking for a story blending some of the film’s early concepts and its eventual storyline in a post-movie setting. - YFWE

Author: SkulShurtugalTCG
Description : Real life is messy. We all have limitations. We all make mistakes. Judy and Nick are two of Zootopia's best police officers. They've been through a lot together. But nothing can prepare them for this. A new threat in Zootopia forces them to choose between standing up for their beliefs, or doing their jobs... all while figuring out how their relationship will proceed going forward.

The Zootopia Lawsuit is back... with merch!

Korean Cop Judy Hopps by HOT--DOG
There's a great positive lesson in the beginning of Zootopia.  After being pushed down by the obviously more powerful Gideon Grey, Judy gets back on her feet and says "I don't know when to quit!"

Unfortunately, Gary Goldman seems to have taken that lesson to heart, and none of the other important things the movie teaches us.

That's right, the Zootopia Lawsuit is back.  This time, he's brought several hundred pages of evidence suggesting that Zootopia was his idea in the first place.   It's going to take us a little while to give them a full, in-depth examination, but for now there is at least one good thing that's come of this.

For those of you who have complaints that Zootopia did not have much merchandise, worry no more!  In an effort to prove that they deserve some of the money made from Zootopia merchandise, Goldman's lawyers have compiled full, comprehensive list of all Zootopia related items available for sale in the USA.

EDIT: A quick search on Amazon reveals that, no, this is not a full, comprehensive list of Zootopia merchandise.  They completely missed the funko pop figures, the emoji figures, and a ton more.  So great job, Esplenade Productions, you didn't even get this part right.

Well, if they're going to do this sort of thing, we'll gladly turn it around to Disney's advantage.  If you see anything on this list that you want, and you can find it online, then I say go for it!

Check out the full pdf of official merch after the break.  And trust me, ZNN will be covering Goldman's entire argument in great detail.

Try Everything to Feel Alive (by Mashin' Jams)

Have you ever noticed that the "oh oh oh oh oooh!" in Try Everything is vaguely reminiscent of an animal's howl?  Interesting, right?

Of course, those "oh"s match the "ooh"s of Jake Reese's Day To Feel Alive wonderfully.  Leave it to Mashin' Jams to make that connection and put those two unrelated artists together for a very nice mashup.

Give it a listen after the break, and if you haven't subscribed to Mashin' Jams already, you definitely should!

Story: The Pursuit

Art by: TheWinterBunny
[Rating M16][Romance][Drama][Suspense][Complete]

A multi-layered and marvelously written tale gushing with mystery, intrigue, betrayal and love, this is a story that immediately hooks you with its gripping narrative and excellent portrayal of everyone's favorite rabbit/fox duo. As Nick and Judy progress further into their blooming relationship and receive a new, grisly case to prove themselves as officers, they'll find that their personal and work spheres will be entwined in a terrifying, intricate game of cat and mouse with villains that threaten the stability of both the city and the bond between the two partners. Even though the story can get quite bleak at times, trust me when I say that the journey is absolutely worth it, as the twists and turns throughout – not to mention the emotional payoff at the end – will make this a memorable experience from start to finish and prepare you for a sequel that's just as thrilling. - DrummerMax64

Author: LagardeRhoade
Description : The Pursuit picks up where Zootopia left off, moving forward with the growing friendship between Nick and Judy, as well as their next case. This story does contain some violence and mature themes, though most are later in the story. Expect some drama along the way, as this story is NOT short and will twist and turn over its course.

Water Under the Burrows, Chapter 6: Breathing Smoke

Gideon Grey- a father.  I'll be darned!  I envy that kid a little bit, honestly.  He gets to grow up eating Gideon Grey's Real Good Baked Stuff every day.  That sounds like a little slice of heaven (pun intended).

I have to say, I really, really like Mr Mead's team-up with WriteAnon for this series.  They do a magnificent job of controlling just how the emotions of a scene rise and fall.  Moments of peace shattered by high tensions.  Tension giving way to peace.  It seems almost rhythmic, like waves on the ocean.  But that also means that, after the moment of peace in the last chapter, it's almost time for the next high-stakes scene.  Not here, but soon.  Very soon.

If you need to catch up on Water Under The Burrows, you can do so here:
Chapter 1: Welcome to Bunnyburrow
Chapter 2: The Stigma
Chapter 3: Old Fashioned
Chapter 4: Turn it Around
Chapter 5: The Best in Me

And now you can get Chapter 6: Breathing Smoke over on tumblr, or after the break!

Jack Savage: Bunny Investigator- a seriously old-timey radioplay!

Jack Savage, by 10Milz
Imagine, for a moment, Zootopia in the 1930's.  It was a simpler time in entertainment-  the golden age of the Radio Show.  Generous sponsors, such as Hamhock's Tooth-Whitening Tonic (perfect for predator and prey alike), brought zootopia marvelous melodramas and magnificent mysteries, Mondays through Fridays!  During this time, mammals got their kicks listening to the tales of Zootopia's greatest detective, who you know and love to this day.  So tune in today as ZNN highlights just such a blast from the past with Jack Savage: Bunny Investigator in The Case of the Five Kalahari Gemstones of Gemsbok Kahn!

This radio play was written, directed, and produced by Comicanon, starring Alabaster as Skye, Clunkbot as the announcer, Comicanon as Jack Savage, and many, many more!  If you like audio dramas that are just dripping in style, you'll love this!

Art of the Day #114: Completely Canon

Zootopia by Saliov
Source [1]
Zootopia is a beautiful movie. You wouldn't still be fans of it if that weren't the case.  But sometimes we can get a little too focused on what we imagine about the movie to really think about just how the movie inspired us.

So today, this art of the day will be focused on showing appreciation to Zootopia. And by that I mean the film itself- not on crossovers, or shipping, or even nick and judy just hanging out at the station. Today is all about recreating some of the magnificent faces, or screenshots, or actions that we see directly in the film, and expressing them in our own unique styles.  Think of it as a sort of "life drawing" exercise, if you will.

Story: Of Heists and Hustles

Art by: IronicSnap
[Rating K9][Crime][Action/Adventure][Humor][Heist][Crossover][Complete]

Delightfully in-character with a tone that can shift from intensely personal to at times uproariously funny (and everywhere in between), “Of Heists and Hustles” is a deftly told crossover tale that predominantly fuses the worlds of Zootopia and the Sly Cooper video game series. That’s not all, though; along the way, you’ll find characters from The Lion King, Kung Fu Panda and more. But don’t mistake this for some ill-conceived mish-mash of different intellectual properties thrown together just for the hell of it; “Of Heists and Hustles” weaves its worlds into an infectiously entertaining heist story rife with clever dialogue, endearing characters and a particularly charming take on the partnership of Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps, both professionally and personally. Unfamiliar with the non-Zootopia titles used? Don’t fret. A few chapters in and you’ll barely recall ever minding. - YFWE

Author: IronicSnap
Description : The world's largest gemstone has arrived in Zootopia! Sly wants to steal it. Judy wants an adventure. Nick just wants his partner to survive to the end of the week. Things are complicated by a foxy Interpol inspector and a rival gang led by a dangerous, shadowy mastermind. As new relationships are forged, old ones begin to strain.
