Welcome back to another behind-the-scenes look at the making of Zootopia 2! Today, we are looking at how the team used Maya, a 3D software, to create the world we love. The software allows the team to render 3D models of environments, characters, atmosphere, and objects, allowing them to be viewed from almost any angle and adjusted as needed. The teams are then able to work together to render everything, including the fur of the mammals (some having up to 9.6 million unique strands of fur), to Gary’s scales ( a total of around 3,000 scales), and create brand new systems to create the water tubes and their physics.
Every time I see more BTS of this movie, I fall more in love. Their is absolutley no question that every single strand of fur, every water droplet, and every scale was all created with passion and love for this movie, and with Jared sitting as WDAS’s newest Cheif Creative Officer, I know that I am very excited for the future of anumation and the movies we will be getting, both in the world of Zootopia, and beyond.
