Villains are something people are usually divided over. Preferences vary, and taste is always subjective, but a story is designed to make the villain someone one can root against. Of course, there are villains where the opposite occurs. Some villains even have sizable fanbases, and Disney even has its own games based on some of them. But when it comes to sleeper villains, there are a lot fewer of them. That person or thing that no one expects. The quiet one in the corner of one’s eyes that is always there but never seems like they are a villain, but in the end, they turn out to be the villain themself or an accessory to the villain. When it comes to Zootopia, both films have this element, and Zootopia 2 puts a much different spin on it. In a recent video by Schaffrillas Productions, they discuss this video topic and how it worked for the latter film. Comparing it to other Pixar and Disney films of the same Ilk, Zootopia 2 takes its own spin on the archetype. What did you think of the film’s choice of villains? Did you expect it?
