Hello everyone…and welcome to ZNN’s 5th Anniversary Fanart Collection.

On March 4, 2016, Zootopia made its debut in US theaters. It wasn’t expected to do much; the Disney Animation Studio’s big film for that year was intended to be Moana, the latest in their Disney Princess catalogue. Instead…well, we all know what happened. Zootopia became not only an instant classic, but an instant phenomenon. It grossed more than 1$ billion dollars worldwide in its first year of release, and took home both the Golden Globe and the Oscar for best animated feature of 2016.

That was five years and three US Presidents ago…and in all that time, the enthusiasm for Zootopia has never wavered. When the Walt Disney corporation announced they were going to build a Zootopia attraction in Shanghai Disneyland, it created an immediate sensation. And that was nothing compared to the rapture that greeted the announcement that a Zootopia TV series was coming to the Disney+ Streaming Channel.  Since film’s movie’s premiere, more than 5600 pieces of Zootopia fanfiction have been published online–and more than 30,000 pieces of Zootopia fanart!
