Nick and Judy may have been fire forged from enemies to friends by the heat of the nighthowler crisis in the film, but in this fic it’s that elements opposite that does the hard work in taking these two mammals and smashing them together, along with tearing a whole lot more apart as it does so. A brutal flash flood, heroism of those caught in the sway or jumping in to try and help, this short but brutally intense disaster story sees our two favourite characters -who do not like each other one bit in this ‘verse – battling to survive, and keep those around them out of the storm. A tough read, and a reminder that for all the technological marvels of our favourite mammal metropolis, mother nature will always have the last laugh.
