Happy 8th Anniversary, fellow fans of Zootopia!

As Nick Wilde might have put it, has it really been 8 whole years since the movie’s premiere?

Yes…yes, it has.   And even today, after all this time, the fanart community is still going strong.  We predict that when Zootopia 2 hits the silver screen, there’s going to be an explosion of new artwork.

In the meantime, I had the privilege of sitting in on an art-stream during the creation of today’s Featured Image. Though it isn’t labeled as such, this is very much an anniversary commemorative piece.  Big shout-out to the artist, Jonny Doodles for coming up with such a wonderful piece of work.  And although that isn’t an Easter basket in Judy’s paw, there are several Easter-Eggs in this pic.  We’ll leave it to you to find them.

And  that’s only the opener, folks. There’s all kinds of amazing 8th Anniversary fanart, waiting for you below.  Enjoy…and don’t forget to show the original artists some love by clicking on the source-links.

As with our Featured Image, not all of the pictures posted here have captions.  But trust us, they were all created to commemorate Zootopia’s anniversary

Now here’s a pic that is really exquisite; a Zootopia-Day Mural done up in the style of a Japanese ink painting.  Owing to our webpage’s size limitations, we can’t display the full-size image here; you’ll need to click on the source-link in order to see it.

But then, you should do that anyway…and besides, it’ll be worth it.

And from Japanese Sumi-e, we go to German Expressionism; a faithful–and we do mean faithful–rendition of the poster for the classic sci-fi film, Metropolis, redone in Zootopian form.

We wrap things up with a countdown of Zootopia Anniversary fanart from out previous collections — Year Seven through Year One.

We added an extra pic to Year Six because…somehow, the images below managed to miss being included in any of our previous anniversary galleries.

And finally…a piece created by Disney Artist Joaquin Baldwin for Zootopia’s US opening.
Every year, in honor of that day, he reposts it to the net–and we felt that it was only right for us to so the same.

  1. Hi, I was curious regarding how fan art is credited. I would like to submit a piece of fan art I created to this website, but I would like to not share my real name for privacy reasons. How can I ensure that if my work is posted on this website that only a username is featured instead of my real name or email address?

    • Hi.

Thanks for your interest. The rule for getting a pic posted to one of the ZNN Art of the Day collections is that it first needs to be posted on a social media and/or anthro-artwork site, Twitter, Furaffinity, Deviantart, etc. The good news is you can do that under a screen name, and request that none of your information be shared. I would recommend registering on the new one, Bluesky, if you’re seeking anonymity; they don’t ask for a lot of personal info when you join. Post your artwork there with the tags #zootopia and #ZNN; we’ll find it
