During a recent Disney Vacation Club Member Crusie, guests were treated to a special event hosted by Zootopia 2’s Head of Story, Carrie Liao! She’s been working on the movie for two and a half years, and recently posted that it’s fully wrapped up. With that, she was free to do a special presentation of Zootopia 2 for those on the Disney Dream.
According to The Laughing Place, who had a reporter on the cruise, the presentation was very similar to what we saw at Annecy, with one exclusive distinction.
There was, however, one sequence that was exclusive to this DVC Member Cruise, a storyboard sequence (drawn by Melissa Sheng) that takes place before the Gary chase sequence. Carrie Liao walked the audience through the scene the same way she would present it at the studio, doing the voices for the characters. The reptile expert dwells on a rusty half-sunken ship, and inside, in a downward-slanted hallway, Nick and Judy have an argument when Nick Wilde reveals his own biases towards animals with scales.

Presumable, this took place at the same location as this clip from the trailer, where Nick and Judy are on said “rusty, half-sunken ship”.
It’s certainly interesting to hear that Nick might have some biases to get past as well this time, much like how Judy did in the first film. How this will all play out, we will simply have to wait and see this November when the film releases! You can read the full article on The Laughing Place.

MY THEORY WAS CORRECT! Nick IS afraid of reptiles! I was right about the roll reversal thing. I really do think later in the movie, it’s going to be NICK that cries this time, begging Gary for forgiveness.
