Happy Memorial Day from ZNN

Source: TheWinterBunny

Today is Memorial Day in the United States.  It’s one of the less flashy holidays, focusing more on remembering those who have fallen in battle defending people from threats foreign and domestic.  But it is by no means insignificant.  And despite our international audience, I think that it would be appropriate to take a moment to appreciate what this holiday is about.  This honor is applicable to everyone around the world who fights for those who cannot, after all.

While the focus of this holiday is primarily on those who served in the military, let us not forget that our police officers who also put themselves in harm’s way to protect you.  Soldiers, Officers, and everyone else who is willing to risk their lives to save others, be they still alive or long dead… we thank you.  We salute you.  We honor you.

Let’s have a moment of silence in honor of those we have lost to unnatural causes, and remember their selfless sacrifice.

  1. With a mother in the armed forces, the fact that most of the nation associates Memorial day with swimming pools and barbecues more than our fallen now hits a little closer to home. Thank you for the recognition of those who have served and lost, and we salute those who gave everything.

  2. Thank you Andy for featuring my commission. I approached Winter with an idea and she took off with it. The result is the beautiful piece of art above. I hope you will feature it as well on November 11 which is Remembrance Day in Canada.
