Once a year, ZNN celebrates artists old and new with a month-long drawing challenge. Based on Inktober (which I know many artists have shied away from recently, and we totally understand), the goal is to do 31 unique drawings throughout the month of October, each using traditional or digital lineart and inking. We put our own spin on it, with everything needing to be based Zootopia, but the idea is broadly the same- one drawing per day, with a specific word as the theme. The goal is to grow and improve as an artist over the course of a month, though it should be said that you absolutely do not have to do every single day: if you feel you can only do one a week, or even just one this month, you can simply pick one of the prompts and go from there. It’s a challenge, but one you can take at your own pace.
After the month of October concludes, we will be gathering all the works tagged with #Zinktober or #Zinktober2025 from across various social media platforms (or via email, [email protected], or a Zinktober submissions channel on the ZNN Community Discord Server) and sharing what everyone came up with for the given prompts over the first few weeks of November. You can be any skill level, be it just starting out or a seasoned pro- the only requirement is you enjoy and have fun.
