Good chemistry between characters is something that can often make or break a story. How they interact and react to one another’s presence is something every character relationship, regardless of media. Of course, you have some that are more problematic than others. Incorporation of the anti-hero type or even a redeemable villain can sometimes be a problem for writers. But such is the reality of making a story work. When it comes to Disney, there is no shortage of relationships that were memorable enough to remain in the cultural lexicon to this day. Someone’s first memories of these relationships can leave an indelible mark on their preferences both through their childhood and perhaps even beyond. Maybe your first recollection of this is Simba and Nala from The Lion King, or perhaps it is Anna and Kristoff from Frozen. These more intentional relationships leave little to the imagination. Of course, there are also those that are not quite as overt, such as Judy and Nick from Zootopia, but that goes without saying for many of us. No matter the source or preference, there are plenty of them to analyze and perhaps even build upon.
