We’ve been saying for years that Asian merch companies should sell Zootopia products to the west. Even back in 2017, we were saying that there needed to be more Zootopia merch outside of China, Japan, and Korea.
Fortunately, with Zootopia 2 around the corner, and with the recent popularity of Asian pop-up shops with products for all sorts of IPs, our prayers seem to have finally been answered! Miniso, a popular chain of variety stores from china, is going above and beyond our wildest expectations. That’s right, they aren’t just adding Zootopia merch to their existing shops- they’re bringing a series of ENTIRELY ZOOTOPIA THEMED pop-up shops around the world!
Full disclosure, Miniso reached out to ZNN for this, and is giving us merchandise to review in exchange for promoting this event (which, honestly, we probably would have done anyways), so huge thanks to Miniso for seeking us out! Expect a full unboxing and merch review when that arrives, but for now, here’s what you need to know:
Miniso is officially partnering with Disney to make exclusive Zootopia-themed shops for a limited time in various locations around the world! They’ve already launched one in India, as seen on their Instragram, but they’re bringing it to the following locations as well:
Los Angeles, California, USA: November 22nd – December 14th at the Los Cerritos Center
Sydney, Australia: November 22nd at the Miniso Land in West Chatswood
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam: November 22nd – December 14th at the Van Hanh Mall Dome Event Hall
Jakarta, Indonesia: November 22nd at the Miniso Central Park Mall
Montreal, Canada: December 6th – January 4th at CF Carrefour Laval in Québec
Furthermore, on the opening day, they will be having a special meetup for Zootopia fans, and if you register for the event beforehand (which you can do on the Official Miniso Discord Server) you can get zootopia-themed vouchers and some exclusive freebies just for attending! You can also follow their instagram for more event details and sneak previews of some of the stuff they will have on offer.
