My Zootopia obsession began in January of this year, so I can’t imagine how agonizing the 9 year wait for the sequel has been to the fandom. I’ll have seen it when this review goes live, but I’m sure many others will still be dying from anticipation. After seeing Nick and Judy trudge through day after day of hum-drum patrols, Chief Bogo’s stonewall stare, and yes, plenty of parking duty, I think I get it. This fic really feels like the pilot to a Zootopia cartoon series, with its healthy helpings of Wilde & Hopps banter, meta commentary, subversions, and breezy workplace comedy vibes. Hang in there, Nick and Judy! Whether it’s a month or 9 years, we all eventually get that next case.
