Here’s something I didn’t have on my 2025 bingo card- IMAX, the company that makes a system of cameras, film formats, projectors, and theaters with massive screens, apparently is… let me reread my notes… thirsty for Nick Wilde and a major Wildehopps shipper.
That’s right, the official IMAX twitter account, @IMAX, which is verified as representing the official company on the platform, has been replying to quite a few tweets about Zootopia 2 in the last few weeks. It started out standard enough, the typical corporate “check out the upcoming movie, buy your tickets now” post…
(Side note, adding a Z doesn’t automatically make something a zootopian pun. IBEX would have been better)
But then they started replying to some fan comments…
supporting the ship…
joining in on memes…
and being a little thirsty.
Seriously, whoever’s making these posts, take a break, go by the cooler, and get a drink of water. You clearly need one.
But it doesn’t end there- they also have some major support for Wildehopps.
So now the question is: who is it? Which one of you works for IMAX and has taken over their twitter?
In all seriousness, we know this is just their social media manager doing their job. Their whole thing is being super excited about upcoming movies. But credit where credit is due, they genuinely seem to be a fan, and we welcome everyone into this community, even if they run a major company’s twitter account. It reads like someone forgot they were logged into the company account, and that’s kind of fun in its own way, even if it is part of their role.
So, if whoever is behind the account reads this, we have three words for you: keep it up!
