How Zootopia Broke a BILLION – ACRacebest analyzes Zootopia’s theatrical run

Now that Zootopia’s theatrical run is over (not counting the occasional second-run showing), it’s time to see just how well it did overall!  Back in April, ACRacebest made a video that predicted that Zootopia could have the potential to dethrone Frozen as the #1 highest grossing animated film of all time.

It didn’t quite do that, but it did make over a Billion dollars, firmly placing it at #4 and coming very, very close to the #3 spot.  Plus, it made it into the top 25 highest grossing films of all time.  Out of all films, not just animated ones.

So, now for the follow-up analysis!  ACRacebest is back with another video about our favorite obsession, and I hope that we’ll be seeing more Zootopia stuff from him soon.  He’s a really cool guy.

Check out the video after the break!

  1. You should see the guy at conventions. One time at his who's line panel he had to pretend to hate zootopia and convince someone to not see it. He was even forced to say it was over rated.

  2. The ONLY other March release to crack $1 billion came off the 3D heels of Avatar. Alice In Wonderland NEVER would have made anywhere close to that amount if Avatar hadn't ushered in the new version of 3D like it did. Look at the sequel as proof. Disney was stupid to make a sequel to that, and the box office was inflated because it came out right at the time that Avatar made everyone think 3D was the super spectacular thing, and all these movies today who have a 3D version can all thank James Cameron's Avatar, the only movie ever to gross more than $2 billion outside domestic!
