Life isn’t some Disney movie where you skip straight from busting the bad guys and fighting for your life to opening up the newly refurbished Reptile Ravine and jumping into an undercover mission. Instead, there’s lots of time and work in between, such as doing all the paperwork to find out who owns what, securing any valuables in the town to ensure looters don’t get it, and if there are any genuine treasures found and verified totally NOT letting them get stolen away, forcing two recovering cops to volunteer themselves to the job (again).
WANMWAD, king of the historic AU’s and the mega author notes is back, this time with a contemporary mystery midquel fic that is as engaging and characterful as ever, throwing in snake bite recoveries, artistic alt-history, rich worldbuilding and THE ZEBROS (Zebros) to boot. While Judy and Nick’s tasks may start small… well, we know them. And given that this is the author who created two Sherlock Holmes AUs, you can guarantee and engaging mystery that will keep you guessing and pondering throughout.
Well worth a read.

Additional Tags: The idea of these additional notes was based on Andy Lagopus’ experience with Equestria Daily where a similar such system existed. They would work as either/or useful tl:dr’s or just inside jokes, and have been a regular feature since (almost) the start of fic reviews. Funnily enough, they were introduced in the second ever fic review, for ‘The Fox and the Rabbit’, with the largely plain tag of ‘Consequences can be good and bad’.
