The legal system is a vast but interesting web of intricacies that many people would prefer avoiding. The thought of being involved in court is intimidating for many of us, especially if one finds themselves on the wrong side of the law. But countless systems exist, and they vary across the world in practice, execution, and enforcement. Some of us may have even participated in one aspect or another, perhaps as a witness or a member of the jury. But how would the Villains of Zootopia be defended if they were put against the gavel?
Recently, Animated Courtroom has investigated just this prospect. He visits such cases as the syndicated mafioso Mr. Big, all the way to Pawbert and the Lynxley’s. He tries to rationally legalize a defense for each of them, going into plausible legal defenses for them, such as plausible deniability, pleading insanity, probable cause, and even reasonable doubt.
