Every day in real life, we deal with any number of social interactions. Acquaintances, Friendships, Partnerships, and Relationships are all part of the grand scheme of how one must interact with other individuals. Regardless of whether it is personal, professional, or even romantic, that doesn’t mean it will be any less challenging. But when it comes to fictional characters, the writers and directors must navigate these interactions in the same way a real person would. After all it should ideally be relatable, even if the interactions are seen as toxic, exaggerated, or unrealistic.

When it comes to Nick and Judy, there are countless versions of their relationship, with the overwhelming majority of the community having them interested in one another. But when it comes to Disney, they had to play it more carefully. While they could have been more romantically inclined, Disney likely wanted a more natural relationship development between the two.
