I think by now we’re all familiar with the song “Zoo” from Shakira… er… Gazelle. We’ve heard it many times when watching Zootopia 2, whether for the first time or the hundredth time, dancing along to the infectious beats. Some of you may have even seen it performed live (lucky you!). There’s a lot that goes into the production of a song, and that includes the music video. But Music is much more than just about those unforgettable tunes or those catchy lyrics. There are hundreds of hours that goes into the making of songs. But we all know that the mere production of a song doesn’t make it catchy. There are plenty of tunes out there that straight up don’t make it. While there is no perfect formula for creating that viral video or that top ten track, there are more than enough insights into just that topic. But have you thought about how Shakira went about making either of her now-famous Zootopia tunes?
Well…you’re in luck! Shakira has uploaded a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the music video for “Zoo”. Directed by Hannah Lux Davis, the video incorporates Shakira into iconic scenes from the movies, including the infamous rock climbing scene. According to Shakira herself, “When they first sent me the concepts, I asked them to change it, because I really wanted to immerse myself in the world of ‘Zootopia,’ to be IN the scenes.” In this behind-the-scenes look, you can see exactly how they do it! They even recreated a piece of the Zootopia Express in real life for the video! It’s really cool to see how they brought the world of Zootopia to life in this video, and it shows just how dedicated to Zootopia Shakira is.
