You find yourself scrolling through whichever social media feed you prefer. The algorithm is designed to keep you engaged, and for many, the formula works all too well. Social media has become a big part of our lives, whether we like it or not. One thing that has come out of this phenomenon is the prominence of “Influencers”. People who may or may not be paid to try and influence potential consumer opinions and ultimately purchasing decisions. They are everywhere, and the different platforms do their best to inform you wether someone is promoting something or not. Something less common though, are hosted accounts that represent fictional characters. From Sesame Streets Elmo to The Simpsons Homer Simpson, there are certainly a variety of them to find one that suits your interests. But what if the characters from Zootopia had one, or more specifically Nick Wilde? Would you expect this sly fox to find himself on Youtube or Tiktok or perhaps he would have an Instagram instead? So far Disney hasn’t dabbled much in this and only has an account for Mickey. But perhaps one day we will find one such account that represents Nick or another character from Zootopia out in the “wild” that is Social Media. How about you?
