You only get to make a second impression once, and for Nick with Judy in this fic it’s gonna be a big one, seeing as a convenient Assistant Mayor wasn’t there to save her job. But Nick might have bigger things on his paws seeing as a young pup he knows was unknowingly sent his way by the bunny, desperately seeking safety. While the set up may seem simple, where this fic excels is diving deep and burrowing into the nitty gritty of worldbuilding out Happytown, Zootopia’s poorest district. From the bars that keep ticking through the night, to the feline and canine rivalries that slit the urban district, this fic paints a detailed picture, with slow burning character explorations and development laid on top. And with Nick and Judy only just re-bumping into each other at the time of this review, who knows where it might go next.
