But when a simple chase escalates to a real firearm and an interview with movie star Jack Savage, their usual playbook of fast-talk and faster footwork isn’t enough to handle a conspiracy that goes deeper than they ever imagined. Now, they’ll need more than just their legendary banter to survive, especially when their partnership starts to feel a whole lot like something more—the kind where one can finally ask:

“So I was a fixer-upper this whole time?”
“Yup! Guess I’m stuck working on ya for the rest of my life.”

This fic has been 2 years in the making! I was Inspired to write from Guardian Blue after hearing about Alps passing, and I hope people can find an escape from life for a bit in my fic the same way I was able to find escape in his when I had my own difficulties.
