The third entry in a series is always an interesting one. So much to gain, so much to lose, and with the Ready or Not saga, Boney has much to live up to. The original was a pure distillation of the classic injury-on-the-job WildeHopps slow burn genre while the second entry, one of my favourite fics, had an interesting exploration of the aftermath of a mass casualty event, Nick and Judy forced to deal with the growing gnawing difficulties that came with that, dark elements from their past returning, and conspiracies sprouting on both sides of the law. But now, to round it off, we have Nick, Judy and their new family dealing with the natural next step. GOLF!!!!!
Heheheh, while Nick learning a new sport might be some amusing fluff, the realities of Burrow rivalries and his own fast running mouth mean our favorite fox is thrust into something far, far more serious than he could imagine, and with barely any time to get himself ready. The stakes are high, the tee’s are tabled, and the flags are planted. The only thing to complain about was that this wasn’t entry number FOUR!
