Helloooo Zootopia! -And Happy Howloween.
Surprisingly, no horror story updates this month, in fact very few updates at all! Though that may well be because everyone is holding their breath, ready and waiting for Zootopia 2 and all it may bring. In fact, maybe the scariest thing of all is the fact that next time we post one of these updates, we’ll be in a post Zootopia 2 world!
Don’t know if your nerves are more tense than mine here folks.
BUT, while this month’s fic updates are low on quantity, they sure make up for it with quality. Three big updates for Spies and Pies, a nice new one for two newcomer fics, but the BIG story is, of course, Evergreen.
It’s hard to understate what a famous fic this is. -Published in the early days of the fandom in spring 2016, following a classic story plan with Judy trying to improve her Foxxo’s life, and continually updating through the years. Never the most frequent, never the longest, never the flashiest but always there, ticking along with a great big heart, a beloved constant in the fandom that has inspired art, music and a legion of fans. And now, in the last month before a new era in the fandom, this grand stalwart of the first age of the Zootopia fandom draws to an oh so satisfying close.
A fitting end, so much so we’ll be adding in even more art into this post to celebrate it. For those wondering what all the fuss is about, here’s a fantastic image, showing the very spark that lit the fire that kept Evergreen glowing.
Yup. That fantastic art by Kochich goes a long way to explaining just how beloved Evergreen is, though all its many readers will know that already. -And, if you’re not one of them, maybe it’s just the push you need to join them.
Farewell to an old friend! Farewell to an old era of the fandom.
