The Second Ranger Scout Challenge!

Source

Hello everyone, and welcome to the second ZNN Ranger Scout Challenge!

For those of you who missed the last one, the rules are simple.  We provide you with three challenges to be completed within one week.  You can choose to do one, two, or all three of them if you wish.  We are working on a more formal system of organization and progression, but until we have that, there will be a writing challenge, an art challenge, and a miscellaneous challenge.  At the end of the challenge, those who completed any of the tasks will be awarded a merit badge.

To submit an entry to the RSC, email Submit@ZootopiaNewsNetwork.com and include "RSC Round 2" in the subject line.

The challenges for this RSC are as follows:
1- Draw a picture of Nick and Judy in action.  You can interpret that however you wish, be it a high-speed chase, a firefight, or getting stuck doing paperwork.
2- Write a short story based on the following prompt: "Nick visits Bunny Burrow and meets Gideon Grey."
3- Take your favorite song and re-write the lyrics to fit within the world of Zootopia.  Bonus points for good musician name puns.

You have until July 11th at Midnight Pacific Time (GMT -7) to send in your submissions.  Good luck to everyone, and as always, remember...

Try Everything!

  1. Argh, too bad I'm going in vacation 7 July :(. For the song to be rewrote, are we forced to change the instrumental or can we keep the original and sing on it just changing the lyrics ?

  2. I think it's just the lyrics we're changing. Otherwise I'm screwed.

  3. This is harder than I thought.
    I can't draw, I can't write...

The last option is the third one.

  4. Do we have to post our finished products on a website/social media so that you can embed the source, or can we submit the file itself as an attachment to the email?

  5. YES. I'm getting one of those music badges.

  6. How long does the short story have to be? I'd be interested in Judy revisiting her old bully/new friend, Gideon.

    1. It depends,I guess there's not a perfect answer for this.

    2. The last challenge had stories that ranged from a little less than a page all the way to 4-5 pages. So yeah, you can really just write a story and go crazy, there aren't many restrictions.

    1. doesn't matter- the normal 2500 word limit is not in play for the ranger scout challenges

  10. Whew! After several days of drawing and writing, all three challenges have been completed and submitted. Quite the wild ride, but glad to have finished them. Will eventually go back and try the first challenges, since I came in late to the game, but still want to do them. :)

  11. Just as an afterthought, having noticed the time on my previous posting, I DID complete all three challenges before the deadline. They were submitted before midnight of July 11. Don't know why the posting is set for 2:46 AM, because I was asleep at that time.
