Hold on to your tails, ladies and gentlemammals, because this is a big one, a real knockout in the fandom. The first main work in Alps Sarsis’ widely popular and positively enjoyable series, “Guardian Blue: Season 1” represents the best of what Zootopia fanfiction has to offer, involving Nick and Judy in a memorable narrative that many folks in the community tout as their personal favorite, and it’s easy to see why. There’s a little bit of everything – breathtaking action, outrageous comedy, a heaping dose of family drama, and in the thick of it all, a sprouting romance, building on an unwavering bond between two extremely close mammals. Without question, you’ll have an insane amount of fun going through this one, and once you reach the mesmerizing final chapters, you’ll understand why it rightfully earns its place on the esteemed list of stories that could be considered a legitimate sequel to the film. 1. I can't recommend this highly enough — but please, I implore you, read the first work, 'Thanks for the Fox' before this. Yes, you'll sort-of guess what's coming — it's the 'how' that matters. Alps Sarsis is an absolute master of resolving seemingly impossible situations with a skill that's frankly uncanny.

  2. This my favorite fanfiction of all time. If you have yet to read this masterpiece, I'd HIGHLY recommend it. Having read this series more times than I can count, I can personally attest to its utter brilliance. Everything from character development to story-line, this has it all. With each new chapter you only fall more in love. I've never felt more connected to Nick and Judy.

The slow build from just friends to loving couple is done so well in this series, it truly feels natural. You can't help but fall in love with the WildeHopps ship all over again while reading this. A perfect balance between fluff and a story that is nothing short of breathtaking. No matter how many times I read this, it never fails to fill me with a level of emotion that I can't express through text alone. Throughout this series
you will laugh, cry, and be overcome by emotion.

As stated by the comment above, you really must start this from the beginning. Go to the authors main page and begin with 'Thanks for the Fox'. Not only is there a main story line, but there are several side stories that branch off from the main plot. Each one just as masterful as the next. All of which intertwine with the main story.

Every person I've introduced this amazing work to has loved it beyond question. I'll end this absurdly long comment with a simple request. Please, read this amazing fanfiction. Read it and let us know what you think! If you find that you love it even half as much as I do, pass it along to your friends. Share with them this amazing story of adventure and love.

This series embodies everything I joined the fandom for. Everything that inspired me to fall in love with the movie, its characters, and this wonderful fandom.

  3. I can't add anything that the previous commenters have not said already. It's just one of the best, if not the best, Z fanfic IMHO.
    Read it!

@ZNN: I'm surprised it took so long for the GB series to be featured here. Does this have anything to do with making the text childproof? The last time I re-read the fic I found several instances were proper non pg-preteen sentences were disgustingly watered down.
E.g. a perp in the back of Judy's and Nick's cruiser tries to abuse them verbally and some stuff gets replaced:
    "Nick’s mom is a who**." –> "… bed-hopper"
"that’s actually kinda t*ts." –> "… fun." (the perp talks like British tea time English only here! .. and 'cool' would have been better)

    • I did soften some of the language, yes, but it was not for ZNN, it was more because folks pointed out that I may have exceeded in some cases the rating I applied to the series on AO3.

  4. I Love this story. It is captivating, Wild(e) and very honest. Very likeable characters (including the best written Jack savage EVAH) This series reaches my top 2 without troubles. I only hope that it wil at some point be continued. DrummerMax64, please keep writing more!!!

  5. This story and it's prequels, sequels, and side stories in my opinion are some of the best examples of Zootopia fanfiction that you can find in the entire fandom. There are plenty of emotional moments, gripping action, comedy, and fluffy heartwarming moments that will make you laugh, cry and have you on the edge of your seat wanting to read more.

I often go back and reread some of my favourite chapters all the time and I bet you will too if you check this out. So do!
