The 2017 ZNN Year in Review!

Welcome, one and all, to the year 2018!  This past year has been a wild(e) ride, one in which the Zootopia fandom has proved that it’s not just a flash-in-the-pan fandom: We’re here to STAY!

A lot of crazy stuff happened in 2017- we witnessed Zootopia win an Oscar for Best Animated Picture.  We watched as Gary Goldman made a fool of himself in court by trying to sue Disney over alleged copyright infringement regarding Zootopia.  We scratched our heads in confusion as a comic we thought was old news suddenly became a meme at the end of the year.  It’s been an odd year to say the least, with plenty of ups and downs, but we’ve survived all of this, and are ready to take on the new year with a new vigor unlike any seen before!

A lot has changed at ZNN since last year, too.  We’ve brought in many new teammates, we’ve had to let others go, and we’ve seen an explosion of views, both from consistent, long-time readers and from those attracted to us by the controversial meme.  You’re all welcome here, and as long as there is a Zootopia fandom, there will be a ZNN!  You have my word on that!

So let’s end off the year with a list of all the biggest pieces, articles, and posts that we’ve seen this past year at ZNN.  We’ve divided them up by categories, and are highlighting the top 5 of each sort of post (except fanfiction- we’re showing the top 10 there).

Thank you all so much for a marvelous 2017, and as we look ahead to 2018, let’s make this year truly spectacular.
