Poll: How do you think Zootopia should impact the real world?

To say Zootopia has made waves is an understatement.  Not only has it inspired a whole community of fans (hey, that’s us!) but it’s had an impact on some things in the real world as well.  The St. Paul Police Department screened it as part of their annual training.  A University Professor incorporated it into his course curriculum.  And a whole generation of children are growing up with the messages Zootopia teaches about prejudice that they’ll have for the rest of their lives.  That’s pretty powerful.

One man in Switzerland, Kevin Baechler, is using this as a topic for his thesis, and reached out to ZNN to help him learn what the community has to say on these topics.  To that end, the two of us have put together a poll that consists of three questions:
Do you think it is a good idea to use animated movies (like Zootopia), with a primary audience of children, to highlight real-world problems like racism, sexism, violence, prejudice, etc.?
Do you think it is a good idea to use movies with a message (like Zootopia) for education and training purposes?
Would you like real-world cities to be more like Zootopia, with vibrant colors and buildings that integrate nature into their construction?
Find the poll over on google forms by following this link.  I’m genuinely interested to see the results, so let’s do this.  FOR SCIENCE!

  1. What a cool thesis! I just sent an email (to the general submission address since I didn't see another) offering Kevin any help that I can give as a credentialed teacher. Please let me know if you didn't receive my email and I will try again. The effects of media on children is a major topic of debate right now, and anyone who is trying to help children through research deserves appreciation and support!

  2. Awesome discussion this could make! I've seen buildings in cities outside the US where plant life is incorporated into the structure of the foundation and stuff. It's cool stuff. But what about the next interview? It's been forever. I wanna see ones with upplet, rem, zanrok, and more! They are my favourite content creators, and each one deserves to have their stories told.

  3. I say it is a great idea to do this but I fear people would brand this as an SJW movie which it clearly isn't, it is the complete opposite. I hope it goes well. 🙂

  4. After study a handful of the web sites on the website now, and I truly like your strategy for blogging. I bookmarked it to my bookmark site list and will also be checking back soon. Pls consider my website at the same time and figure out what you consider. go movies

  5. A complete dearth of it in truth. A romantic 123 without the romance, is just a 123 approximately complaining and whining. That’s what's going to undergo your thoughts. It did for me. gogo
