Comic: The Lastingness, Episode 5 (Original by yuki-zakuro)

We’re back with episode 5 of this massive comic! Judy returns to Bunnyburrow with Nick and Finnick, but there’s no time for a family reunion as the clock is ticking on their investigation. But they soon find out that they can’t stick around there either! Remember to stay tuned for Episode 6, which will be posted in four weeks!

This is a gigantic comic, hundreds of pages long, so we’ll be posting this in several episodes. You’re currently at Episode 5, and you can find the other episodes below:

Episode 1
Episode 2
Episode 3
Episode 4

Thanks to yuki-zakuro for making the original comic, and to LMAbacus and Ryo for translating and to LMAbacus and Andy Lagopus for editing it!  Check out the original over on Pixiv, and the translated version after the break!  As usual for translated comics, read from right to left!

[Note: This does not mean we found LMAbacus.  He put this post together before he vanished, but it was incomplete.  We were just finally able to finish it.  Unfortunately, this will probably be the last post made by LMAbacus, since he didn’t leave us enough info to find him.  The only way we’ll see more work from him is if he sees this and actually responds.  And if he reads this and still doesn’t want to get in contact… well, it’s been a pleasure, man. ~Andy Lagopus]

  1. Even though they appear to be physical scientists, the ending gives me a faint whiff of the Milgram experiment, the Stanford Prison experiment and The Purge all rolled into one.

  2. Out of curiosity, when was it that you lost contact with LMAbacus? Was it before or after the end of April?

I only ask because that's when I know of that the last interaction that he had occurred – he left a comment on the post with the episode 6 cover page over on e621 (specifically, the comment is dated April 28th), saying he'd have that episode translated in 3-4 weeks. If you had been able to contact him after this point, then I apologize, and please disregard this comment.

In fact, the only reason I haven't addressed this post with something like "Oh boy, finally episode 5!" or whatever is because I read it around a month ago over on e621. But to get into the content of the comic itself, I am definitely enjoying the direction the story seems to be taking – can't wait to get more answers, and see what this "Lastingness" business is all about.

  3. damn i just found this amazing comic only to find out that i can never finish it because the original translator dropped off the face of the earth. :C any chance you guys could find a new translator? its been half a year now since this went missing.

  4. Aww, that's too bad the translator dropped (?) this project, since the original in pixiv is still ongoing and I very much want to read it translated. This is a very complex fancomic and I couldn't help to be fascinated in the quality of the writing and art.

Also, as the other commenters had said, I think I saw LMAbacus on reddit still active 6 days ago. I hope he/she's well and all, and I appreciate his/her translation work for all the comics here, (and selfishly I want to ask for the translation work to continue)
