ZOOTOPIA WINS 6 ANNIE AWARDS!!!

Art by the always-awesome Sendrax!

The 44th Annual Annie Awards was possibly one of the craziest and funnest award shows I’ve ever seen.  An award recipient had problems with their translator, a woman dropped her award and broke it as soon as she got it… as Rich Moore said “I’ve been to several annies, and this is by far the f***ing weirdest one ever!”

And out of the 11 nominations Zootopia received, Zootopia took home 6 of them!

Awards

Best Animated Feature
Outstanding Achievement, Directing in an Animated Feature – Byron Howard and Rich Moore
Outstanding Achievement in Character Design in an Animated Feature – Cory Loftis
Outstanding Achievement, Storyboarding in an Animated Feature – Dean Wellins
Outstanding Achievement, Voice Acting in an Animated Feature – Jason Bateman (Tied with Auli’i Cravalho – Moana)
Outstanding Achievement, Writing in an Animated Feature – Jared Bush and Phil Johnston

Congratulations to everyone for this astounding accomplishment!  It started off with music from Michael Giaccino, and ended with Gazelle Shakira!  All in all, it was an absolutely phenomenal night for all of us Zootopia fans!

You can watch the full awards ceremony either on the Annie Awards website, or after the break!

  1. Jason Bateman, while in part playing himself with Nick, really nailed the emotional scenes which is why I think he deserves more then any of the other great performances in Zootopia.
