Merch Review: Nick Wilde Christmas Ornament / Zootopia PlayPack

Hello everyone!  We have a new addition to the ZNN Team!

One month ago, we featured a guest article by TheFonz46, and it was well-recieved.  So now, The Fonz is joining Surrika as one of our Merch Reviewers!  Welcome to the team, Fonz!  Let’s give him a big ‘aaaay!

Now, I wish we could have covered one of these items back in December, but it apparently took a while to find a Target that wasn’t sold out of them.  Another example of Disney understocking Zootopia merchandise, I suppose.  C’est la vie.

Check out The Fonz’s reviews of The Zootopia PlayPack (with all of its additional stickers) and the Nick Wilde Christmas Ornament after the break!

Zootopia PlayPack (plus Stickers)

The Zootopia PlayPack is a $2 travel coloring book that comes with a small pack of stickers. There are 24 pages of coloring fun, with several of the pages being fun activities to do. You also get 4 crayons with it, just the basic TGI Fridays kind.

The paper is okay quality, perfectly fine for coloring, and it keeps the PlayPack lightweight and easy to store. Surprisingly, it doesn’t feel like it’s going to fall apart on you though. The front and back pages are also okay quality and are good to help keep the book all together.

The pack seems to skip over a lot of the story from the movie but I’m not sure if it’s because of spoilers or if there is another reason. It does give you a good amount of characters and scenes to color though.

The stickers are a nice addition to whatever you’re planning on putting them (I put Nick on my PS4!). They are paper though so I wouldn’t recommend sticking them anywhere where they will be exposed to the elements as they will definitely rip off or fade. It does come with a good amount of little stickers such as signs, giving you the ability to make your own Zootopia in the PlayPack.

If you are a fan of coloring, or maybe you’re looking for a gift for someone who does, this is a nice little gift to give them. I found mine at my local grocery store for only two dollars, but I’m sure you can find it at other stores as well.

Nick Wilde Christmas Ornament

The ornament is made out of a ceramic material, giving it a solid weight. It’s definitely not a toy though, and would most likely break if dropped from a certain height.

Nick is colored very well and almost completely matches his outfit in the movie. His eyes are even colored green, something that must of been a huge feat as the eyes aren’t very that large. The tie is also incredible. The detail on it is stunning and the paint job is very well done.

There is a small metal circle on Nick’s head with a ribbon going through it to hang it from a Christmas tree or wherever you want! (I’m gonna hang him somewhere in my room). If something happens to the ribbon you can also add a nice replacement ribbon yourself, or just change the color whenever.

Overall this is a wonderful addition to any Christmas tree or home in general. It’s a great gift for a family member, friend, or yourself. The paint job on him is impressive to say the least, and the colors match up very well.

If you’re lucky, you might still be able to find this at a local Target, although it is likely they have stopped carrying them by now. You may be able to find a couple on Ebay, and hopefully they will restock these soon, but in the meantime, good luck!

  1. Interesting, I got that same activity book but the stickers are different in my set. There's a lot more of them and more characters but stickers look much smaller.

    • I only posted one photo of the stickers that Fonz provided. There were more than that, but he'd used some of them already so I didn't use that picture.

    • Yeah I would've loved to have been able to get both. But I got Nick as a gift from my sister and they were all out by the time I went back to Target
