Amazon is officially sold out of The Art of Zootopia (at least, in the USA)

Yeah, you read the title right.  Amazon is no longer selling hardcover copies of The Art of Zootopia by Jessica Julius.  If you don’t want a kindle version (and let’s be honest, that’s not the point of an art book), you’ll now have to go through one of the resellers.  And they’re charging a pretty penny for them.

And by “a pretty penny”, I mean the cheapest is selling for around $200 US Dollars.

Now, it is very, very likely that disney is going to do another printing of it so that they can keep up with demand.  But until we have word on that, it’s probably not a good time to place your orders.

Read after the break for more details.

You think I’m kidding?  I’m not!  Look at this!  I couldn’t make this up if I tried!

Well, that’s the free market for you, I suppose.  Supply drops enough while demand is still high, and the price shoots through the roof.  I’m willing to bet $170 that Disney is working on getting another print of it made, but until then… well if you already have one and decide you don’t want it anymore (which I can’t imagine anyone would), now would be the time to try reselling it.

  1. Just a heads up, it's still available at Amazon UK, if anyone missed out on ordering it. Of Course, it's called "the Art of Zootropolis" herein my native Country. 😛

    Happy Hunting!

  3. Blech. Looks like mine's in limbo. I bought it a few weeks ago and yesterday they sent a notice asking me to approve yet another delay in shipping it out. :/

(Also, I wish the Sign Out button was not where Send buttons usually are…)

  4. There's still hope. Amazon back with the regular $36 price and with one estimated ship between 1 to 3 months :O

  5. I preordered it and it got shipped to me, but the box got left at my door and one of my neighbors stole it. I got my refund from Amazon back, and reordered it a couple days later. My order has been on hold ever since. Makes me wish I just bought it at barnes and noble, but nope, I prefered Amazon's $24 price tag over Barnes and Nobles' $40. Well, now, any price beats the one's they're selling at now. I'm just going to hold out and hopefully Amazon provides me with another copy. I'm still miffed that someone stole my first copy.
